Project Overview
This project involves the comprehensive custom display cabinetry project for a premium natural herbal perfume flagship store in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our factory handled the entire process — from design, production, and commissioning to delivery — for a complete set of perfume display cabinets, central island tester counters, curved alcove display cases, and leisure negotiation display tables. On-site installation services are not included. The store specializes in Southeast Asian botanical essential oil perfumes and niche imported fragrance products. The space adopts a Southeast Asian light-luxury natural aesthetic, featuring dark green velvet-finish cabinet bodies, champagne-gold metal trims, and cloud-like flowing curved forms to create an immersive rainforest fragrance experience. The entire display system utilizes museum-grade anti-reflective UV-protective glass and acid-free eco-friendly interior materials, tailored to the protective display needs of delicate beauty products such as perfumes, scented candles, and essential oils. This project stands as a benchmark display case implementation for large-scale perfume flagship stores in Southeast Asia.

Client Requirements
Style & Positioning Requirements: Rooted in the tropical Southeast Asian market, the store requires a fusion of European-inspired light-luxury display systems with Malaysia's local natural rainforest aesthetic. Industrial-style cold cabinetry is to be avoided in favor of soft curves and arched silhouettes, complemented by abundant greenery and soft furnishings to align with the brand's local natural herbal perfume identity. The designated color palette is vintage dark green paired with champagne gold, balancing sophisticated elegance with tropical regional character.
Display Functional Requirements:Multiple arched alcove display cabinets along the walls to showcase perfume testers and gift box sets in layered zones, equipped with built-in layered warm lighting strips to present the full product range with clarity.
A large curved interlocking central island tester counter at the heart of the space, serving as the core fragrance-testing experience area, with ample surface space for product placement and concealed storage cabinetry beneath.
Multiple freestanding cylindrical cloud-base island display stands for featured limited-edition perfume highlights, creating distinct visual focal points.
A light-luxury glass negotiation display table on the right side, paired with lounge seating, serving both for consultation and premium product display.
Material & Protection Requirements: Given Malaysia's year-round high temperatures and humidity, all display cabinet materials must be moisture-resistant and mold-proof. Glass must be UV-protective and anti-reflective to prevent fading of perfume liquid, bottles, and packaging under prolonged lighting exposure. Metal frames shall be reinforced rust-proof aluminum alloy, suitable for tropical humid climates.
Delivery & Implementation Requirements: The complete set of display cases shall be assembled and commissioned as a whole at our domestic factory, then disassembled and packed for sea freight to Kuala Lumpur. Comprehensive assembly drawings, hardware fittings, and lighting accessories will be provided, enabling the client's local installation crew to complete assembly and installation independently without the need for our overseas deployment of installers.
Preliminary Design & Consultation Phase
The client remotely provided the Kuala Lumpur store floor plans, brand positioning, and Southeast Asian light-luxury design reference images. Our design team, taking into account Malaysian shopping mall fire safety regulations and tropical moisture-resistant material standards, delivered 3 sets of display cabinet layout plans and renderings within 3 working days. Based on client preferences, we finalized the visual scheme featuring cloud-like flowing platform bases, arched dark green velvet alcoves, and a curved central island counter. Simultaneously, we issued material lists, lighting layout plans, and detailed construction drawings.
Factory Production & Sampling Phase
Upon design approval, our factory first produced samples of the dark green vertical-ribbed velvet cabinet bodies, champagne-gold metal trims, and curved glass display cases, which were shipped to the client in Kuala Lumpur for quality and texture confirmation. After sample approval, mass production commenced, utilizing moisture-proof multi-layer engineered wood, rust-proof aluminum alloy profiles, and double-laminated low-reflectivity museum-grade glass throughout. All cabinet interiors were sealed with moisture-proof treatment and equipped with activated carbon ventilation channels adapted to the tropical humid environment. The complete set of concealed warm-tone LED lighting systems and mechanical anti-theft locks were also integrated.
Finished Product Commissioning & Packing Phase
After all display cases were manufactured, a 1:1 physical assembly and commissioning was conducted in our factory showroom to test lighting brightness, cabinet sealing, metal trim flatness, and to correct any dimensional deviations. Following successful commissioning, the cabinets were disassembled into modular components and packed in double-layered protective packaging — moisture-proof foam combined with export-grade solid-wood crates, with thorough moisture-sealing treatment. A detailed shipping manifest and assembly breakdown drawings were prepared.
Cross-Border Delivery & On-Site Completion Phase
The goods were shipped by sea to Port Klang, Malaysia. The client's local installation team completed on-site assembly, splicing, and lighting wiring based on our illustrated installation manuals and video tutorials. Our designers provided full remote online support throughout the process, addressing any installation dimension or lighting adjustment issues in real time. We followed up remotely until all store display cases were fully installed and operational.
Client After-Sales Feedback
The final installation of the custom perfume display cabinets exceeded expectations. The dark green velvet arched alcoves paired with cloud-shaped freestanding display stands perfectly captured the Southeast Asian rainforest light-luxury aesthetic, creating a distinctive visual highlight that sets the store apart from other perfume retailers in Kuala Lumpur. The moisture-resistant and rust-proof materials have proven well-suited to the local hot and humid climate, with no issues of cabinet mold or perfume packaging fading over extended use. The modular display cases, complete with comprehensive installation guidance, enabled local workers to complete assembly independently — significantly reducing overseas implementation costs. The smooth fragrance-testing traffic flow effectively extended customer dwell time, and the store reported a substantial increase in high-end perfume and gift box sales during its first month of operation. Our factory has already been selected for upcoming store expansions in Penang and Johor Bahru.
