Maison Margiela
globally representative avant-garde luxury brand
The cooperating brand this time, Maison Margiela, was founded in Paris, France, in 1988. It is a globally representative avant-garde luxury brand and a benchmark of deconstructionism in the fashion industry.
Different from the ostentatious glamour of traditional luxury brands, Maison Margiela always adheres to its unique brand character: stripping redundant decorations, breaking rigid rules, and returning to the essence of materials and craftsmanship.
Featuring signature logo-free white-stitch labels and Tabi split-toe shoes as visual symbols, the brand covers full product lines, including ready-to-wear, bags, footwear, and fragrance. Centered on the core aesthetics of "deconstruction, reinvention, authenticity, and restraint," it rejects deliberate luxury stacking.
Maison Margiela is adept at exposing concealed craftsmanship, original textures, and pure tactile quality, building an advanced and distinctive avant-garde luxury atmosphere between minimalist blankness and raw material texture.
Given such a unique and extreme brand temperament, mass-produced standard display cabinets cannot match the store ambiance.
For this custom project, LUXE takes natural travertine as the base. Smooth curved walls eliminate the rigid boundaries of conventional spaces. Natural light floods indoors and generates a soft, artistic spatial atmosphere. Fully oriented to Maison Margiela’s brand DNA, every display fixture echoes its deconstructive spirit and integrates seamlessly with the curved travertine space, achieving a high-end custom effect where “cabinets become space and space embodies the brand."
Most conventional luxury display cabinets adopt regular straight-line shapes to highlight exquisiteness and magnificence, which contradicts Maison Margiela’s low-key avant-garde spirit. LUXE delivers brand-specific customization with continuous curved surfaces, staggered streamlined forms, and angular-free minimalist design, echoing the brand’s concept of rule-breaking and form reinvention.
The full display system includes curved floor shelves, central display islands, garment hanging rail systems, recessed glass niches, fitting-room benches, and irregular stools. All elements follow the soft curves of the space and break the rigidity of traditional straight-line display furniture. Curved cabinets and central islands are processed using 5-axis CNC machining, with the dimensional tolerance of single curved components controlled within ±0.2 mm and pre-assembled curved gaps ≤0.1 mm. Matched with color-matched seamless sealant technology, visually invisible joints are realized even under strong light, blending fluidly with continuous curved travertine walls.
Finishes replicate the horizontal bedding texture of natural travertine, preserving tiny original pores and natural texture variations while avoiding over-polished industrial smoothness. The coating reaches ≥3H pencil hardness to resist abrasion caused by daily customer contact. Staggered curved displays guide customers to wander slowly instead of rushing through in straight lines. This curved display system extends customer dwell time and enables an immersive experience of the brand’s deconstructive aesthetics.
The core of high-end brand customization lies in high alignment between material sentiment and brand temperament. For the travertine-based plain store environment, we reproduce natural bedding textures, keep subtle pores and undulations, and restore the unadorned nobility of natural stone. This deliberately imperfect raw texture precisely reflects Maison Margiela’s philosophy of “stripping appearances and exploring essence." Instead of high-gloss commercial finishes, we apply low-saturation matte coatings with mild tones, zero distracting reflection, and no visual pressure to preserve understated luxury.
Ultra-slim matte metal components echo the brand’s iconic white-stitch details and embed classic brand visuals into the spatial details. The custom-making competence from the commercial handbag display kiosk vendor ensures every texture and surface detail serves brand positioning.
Avant-garde deconstructive aesthetics do not equal roughness but extreme precision under restraint. As a luxury handbag showcase display unit supplier, LUXE understands that luxury premiumness hides in inconspicuous details. In line with Maison Margiela’s minimalist blank aesthetic, manufacturing is completed in high-end dust-free workshops with low-VOC eco-friendly finishing systems that satisfy global high-end store environmental standards and guarantee long-term stable visual quality for luxury retail operation.
Zero glue lines, burrs and obtrusive seams make displays recede gently into surroundings without outshining merchandise or impairing brand atmosphere. Invisible superior craftsmanship accentuates the brand’s avant-garde premium identity.
Following Maison Margiela’s gallery-style display aesthetic, LUXE equips the whole display system with concealed soft lighting. Harsh direct illumination is abandoned in favor of even diffused light centering on merchandise. High-CRI lighting accurately reproduces fabric textures, leather grains, and fragrance product qualities, enabling mutual empowerment between product aesthetics and brand identity.
Light interacts with curved displays and travertine textures to sustain the natural, relaxed, and artistic store atmosphere, breaking free from stereotyped commercial luxury retail styles. It fits Maison Margiela’s niche, avant-garde, and artistic positioning and lets customers deeply experience its one-of-a-kind deconstructive aesthetics within an immersive spatial journey
