That green tint is not cosmetic; it shifts how sapphires and emeralds read under 4000K LED, and once your buyer sees the stones looking muddy, the spec sheet stops mattering.

But the trap is in the grade and the tempering line. Tempered glass is the right call for any cabinet with public contact - it fragments into blunt pieces, not sharp shards - but tempering introduces optical distortion if the furnace roller bed is not maintained. I have rejected entire containers because you could see roller-wave distortion when you viewed the pane at a thirty-degree angle. For a museum-grade build, only specify heat-soaked tempered glass; heat-soaking reduces the spontaneous breakage risk from nickel sulfide inclusions to under one break per 10,000 panes.
